Setting up Stripe

Indie Member processes every membership payment through Stripe. You bring your own Stripe account, and we wire it up to your site in a few clicks.

Before you start

You’ll need a Stripe account in your business name with payouts enabled. If you don’t have one yet, sign up at stripe.com — it takes about ten minutes.

Indie Member uses Stripe Connect. Money never touches our accounts — it flows directly to yours.

Connect your account

  1. In your Indie Member dashboard, open Settings → Payments.
  2. Click Connect Stripe. You’ll be redirected to Stripe to authorize the connection.
  3. Once approved, you’re sent back to the dashboard with your account marked Connected.

Create your first plan

From Plans → New plan, set the price, billing interval, and trial length. Indie Member writes the corresponding product and price into Stripe automatically — no need to manage them by hand.

Switching the currency on an existing plan creates a brand new Stripe price. Members on the old price keep their existing subscription untouched.

Test mode

Before going live, flip your account into Test mode from the same Payments screen. You’ll get a sandboxed Stripe environment where you can run a full checkout with Stripe’s test cards.
